In order to protect the olive oil and its properties, providing a longer durability, PICOTO olive oil is bottled on “pure” aluminium bottles. This choice of packaging provides protection from light and is resistant to corrosion. The lower weight of the bottles, compared to traditional glass bottles, favours easier handling and lower transportation costs.
Aluminium bottles are recyclable after use, allowing unlimited recycling cycles. Aluminium recycling results in a lower carbon footprint compared to glass, plastic or paper, and energy consumption in the order of three times lower than glass and 35% lower than plastic or paper.
The cap for the bottles uses the latest technology, launched in 2014. The top has a spherical element that prevents air from coming into the bottle. The caps do not allow re-fills hence the olive oil inside the bottle is 100% authentic PICOTO olive oil.
The cardboard used for the exterior packaging is recycled and uses environmentally friendly inks.
